We are proud to have been involved in the production of Style It Out, a new CBBC series that showcases the creativity and talent of young fashion designers who use pre-loved and recycled materials to create stunning outfits. Style It Out, hosted by Emma Willis, is a clothing and fashion contest with sustainability at its core.

Nine kids from across the UK compete in different challenges, from making red-carpet outfits to styling their teachers, nans or celebrities. The winner gets to showcase their original creations at London Fashion Week. The show, which aired on 5 January 2024, has been a hit with the viewers, and has received positive reviews from critics and fans, who praised its fun, educational and inspiring approach to fashion and sustainability.

Style It Out

We worked closely with the production company Lion TV to ensure a smooth and successful production.

Crew

The series was shot by our in-house DOP Simon Makin who was working again director Luke O’Callaghan following their previous work on The Rap Game UK series 5 and 6.  Staff camera assistant David Alexander also worked on the show, managing all 7 cameras in the studio as well as wireless links and gallery feeds.

Equipment

For the series we provided 6 x Sony PXW-FX9 cameras with Canon CN7 and CN10 lenses.  All camera feeds were then wirelessly sent back to a central vision control via Vaxis 3000 links allowing Simon and the shooting PDs to manoeuvre the 3 large sets freely whilst keeping pictures going back to the gallery.  The multi-viewers were then distributed around the set in fixed positions, as well as a roaming 50″ monitor with routable feeds for director Luke O’Callaghan to move between the sets.

Episodes are now available on BBC iPlayer.
